Code, Education § 7–442","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “sunscreen” means a topical sunscreen product that is:\n(1) Used to prevent the effects of overexposure to the sun and not for medical treatment of an injury or illness; and\n(2) Approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration for over–the–counter use.\n(b) Each county board shall adopt a written policy authorizing a student to possess and use sunscreen on school property or at a school–sponsored activity without written permission from a health care provider.\n(c) Each county board shall encourage public schools to educate students about sunscreen, sun safety, and the policy established under subsection (b) of this section.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=7-442","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"8c7dcc7efea6901d2f580b20b90a0f01e5e0d3d93c78be3ffedcedc339091023","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-441","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-443"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
