Code, Education § 7–4B–03","heading":"","body":"(a) A county board shall:\n(1) Develop policies and procedures to promote and protect the inclusion of students with disabilities into mainstream physical education and mainstream athletic programs; and\n(2) Provide the opportunity for students with disabilities to participate in extracurricular or interscholastic competition, as demonstrated by:\n(i) Equivalent opportunities for participation in extracurricular or interscholastic athletic programs; or\n(ii) Evidence indicating that the interests and abilities of students with disabilities have been fully and effectively accommodated by the county board’s implemented programs.\n(b) The State Board shall adopt a model policy to assist a county board with the implementation of this section.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=7-4B-03","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"916441f7b6afd8612f0b356ca103170de868035731b643dfc48af5c87d86be0d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-4b-02","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-4b-04"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
