Code, Education § 7–901","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Computer-based technology” means computer hardware or software used by teachers and students in the delivery of an instructional program.\n(c) “Eligible consortium” includes a local educational agency and a public or private nonprofit organization.\n(d) “Instructional programming” means the full range of audio and video text, graphics, or additional state-of-the-art communications distributed through interactive, command and control, or passive methods for the purpose of education and instruction.\n(e) “Students” means students from a broad range of backgrounds and circumstances, including:\n(1) Disadvantaged students;\n(2) Students with diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds;\n(3) Students with disabilities;\n(4) Students with limited English proficiency;\n(5) Students who have dropped out of school; and\n(6) Academically talented students.\n(f) “Technology” means the latest state-of-the-art technology products and services, including:\n(1) Closed circuit television systems;\n(2) Educational television and radio broadcasting;\n(3) Cable television;\n(4) Satellite;\n(5) Copper and fiber-optic transmission;\n(6) Computer and computer-based technology;\n(7) Video and audio laser and CD ROM discs;\n(8) Video and audio tapes or other technologies; and\n(9) Web-based resources and courses.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=7-901","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"304cc6d749815fea9c444383b53d9ba6dda08c4ccba468f01d4ba3043828e615","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-810","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-7-902"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
