Code, Education § 8–601","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Eligible individual” means an individual who:\n(1) Is a resident of the State;\n(2) Is identified by an otolaryngologist or a licensed audiologist as having a hearing loss; and\n(3) (i) Is under the age of 21 years; and\n(ii) Has not graduated from high school.\n(c) “Licensed audiologist” means an individual who is licensed to practice audiology under Title 2 of the Health Occupations Article.\n(d) “Loan Bank” means the Hearing Aid and Language and Communication Video Loan Bank.\n(e) “Otolaryngologist” means an individual who:\n(1) Is licensed to practice medicine under Title 14 of the Health Occupations Article; and\n(2) Specializes in otolaryngology.\n(f) “Program” means the Hearing Aid and Language and Communication Video Loan Bank Program.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=8-601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"1e5999f090f998d084f84514e03032f171d28693e2c9126df37f1739569c1019","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-8-507","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-8-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
