Code, Education § 8–703","heading":"","body":"(a) A student shall be eligible to participate in a program if the student is:\n(1) A disadvantaged child as defined in § 8–101 of this title;\n(2) An at–risk youth;\n(3) A resident of the State; and\n(4) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, enrolled in grade 5 or grade 6.\n(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a)(4) of this section, a student enrolled in grade 7 or higher shall be eligible to participate in a program if:\n(1) The student is otherwise eligible under subsection (a) of this section; and\n(2) An operator files an appropriate plan under § 8–704.1 of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=8-703","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"e74fac67b425391e145aebe0299a90ab6abad6e5ca7369e82d21c6b6dab5b8a5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-8-702","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-8-704"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
