Code, Education § 9.5–608","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not knowingly make or cause any false statement or report to be made in any application or in any document furnished to the Department under this subtitle.\n(b) A person may not knowingly make or cause any false statement or report to be made for the purpose of influencing the action of the Department on an application for a direct incentive grant or for the purpose of influencing any action of the Department affecting a direct incentive grant whether or not such a grant may have already been awarded.\n(c) Any person or any aider or abettor who violates any provision of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment in the penitentiary not exceeding 1 year or both.","path":["Article - Education"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ged\u0026section=9.5-608","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:38Z","sha256":"3be033b186cc2f25594bdb8ebf1669570cdff6b75511aeb8ff6fa1774ef2edd1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-education-9.5-607","next":"us-md/md.-code-education-9.5-609"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
