Code, Election Law § 10–404","heading":"","body":"(a) To qualify as a page, an individual must:\n(1) be at least 14 years old;\n(2) apply to the local board in the individual’s county of residence;\n(3) be available to work at least one full 4–hour shift on election day; and\n(4) complete the required training before election day.\n(b) A page may not:\n(1) engage in any partisan activity while working at a polling place; or\n(2) handle or touch a marked ballot at any time.\n(c) A page may work up to two 4–hour shifts at a polling place on election day.\n(d) Each page shall:\n(1) serve under the direct supervision of the chief election judges for the assigned polling place; and\n(2) assist election judges with election day duties, as directed.","path":["Article - Election Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gel\u0026section=10-404","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:47Z","sha256":"f9b65a6154dccd86f30b231d02b9dd73d71d4b5e9792b02fe748407db9196a03","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-10-403","next":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-10-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
