Code, Election Law § 12–106","heading":"","body":"(a) In accordance with regulations adopted by the State Board, the local board shall:\n(1) conduct the recount and certify the official result of the election or question which is the subject of the recount; and\n(2) ensure the public’s ability to be present while the recount is conducted.\n(b) The State Board shall monitor and support the work of any local board conducting a recount to ensure compliance with this subtitle.\n(c) The State Board shall establish a procedure that will allow petitioners and counterpetitioners to request that a recount be terminated prior to its completion.\n(d) When a recount is completed, the local board, and when appropriate the State Board, shall correct the primary, general, or special election returns and certificates that were made by a canvassing board.","path":["Article - Election Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gel\u0026section=12-106","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:47Z","sha256":"e8712583205647719c7f37bbd7d00181a4b78d64e96ec45c3c015ccaf071dc77","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-12-105","next":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-12-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
