Code, Election Law § 13–209","heading":"","body":"(a) Two or more candidates who have established separate campaign finance entities may form a slate.\n(b) After establishing a campaign finance entity in accordance with § 13–202(c) of this subtitle, a candidate may join a slate.\n(c) (1) To join a slate, a candidate shall file a written notice with the State Board.\n(2) The notice shall specify:\n(i) the name of the slate that the candidate has joined; and\n(ii) the date on which the candidate joined the slate.\n(d) A candidate may join a slate or continue as a member of a slate only if:\n(1) the candidate has filed a certificate of candidacy; or\n(2) (i) the candidate is an incumbent officeholder; and\n(ii) the deadline for filing a certificate of candidacy for the office the candidate holds has not passed.","path":["Article - Election Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gel\u0026section=13-209","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:47Z","sha256":"747dd32888958001173ed44ab4c845ef0c794abde2ddeefb8c1e178ceb5448cf","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-13-208.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-13-210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
