Code, Election Law § 4–201","heading":"","body":"(a) Each political party shall have a State central committee that:\n(1) is the governing body of the political party; and\n(2) may be composed of the members of the central committees of the counties during their terms in office.\n(b) (1) A party’s State central committee shall select the chair or cochairs of the party State central committee.\n(2) The chair or cochairs shall be residents of the State during their tenure in office.\n(c) A party’s State central committee shall determine its own rules of procedure, not inconsistent with the provisions of this article.","path":["Article - Election Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gel\u0026section=4-201","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:47Z","sha256":"71969a4c53a4071b9c5e2eb8d4c4c64c330765675d20d5c318a6905cb9609ac7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-4-103","next":"us-md/md.-code-election-law-4-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
