Code, Environment § 1–601.1","heading":"","body":"(a) A person applying for a permit listed under § 1–601(a) of this subtitle shall include in the permit application the EJ Score from the Maryland EJ tool for the census tract where the applicant is seeking a permit, unless the permit requires the applicant to use a tool developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.\n(b) On receiving an application for a permit listed under § 1–601(a) of this subtitle, the Department shall, in accordance with regulations adopted under this section, review the EJ Score for the census tract where the applicant is seeking a permit using the Maryland EJ tool to verify the applicant’s information.\n(c) The Department shall adopt regulations to implement this section.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=1-601.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"44f8988f4e4d622d81c92acd26654ce93b12927adbc7e1982a6d5b359b42cc44","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-1-601","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-1-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
