Code, Environment § 12–301","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, an individual shall be certified by the Board in an appropriate classification before a waterworks, wastewater works, or industrial wastewater works may employ the individual as:\n(1) A superintendent; or\n(2) An operator or industrial operator in a job function determined by the Secretary.\n(b) This section does not prevent a governmental agency or a person from continuing to employ in a waterworks, wastewater works, or industrial wastewater works, until July 2, 1982, an operator or industrial operator who is not certified under this title.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=12-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"286790e654b54f2da62a9104f7ebbabf9196d970b31addfc058cb2e80d644233","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-12-206","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-12-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
