Code, Environment § 12–402","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, each waterworks, wastewater works, and industrial wastewater works shall be under the supervision of a superintendent who is certified in the appropriate classification.\n(b) A waterworks, a wastewater works, and an industrial wastewater works may have a certified operator serve in responsible charge instead of a certified superintendent if approved by the Department and if the facility:\n(1) Serves fewer than 500 persons;\n(2) Has minimal treatment requirements as determined by the Department; and\n(3) Employs no more than two operators.\n(c) The Department shall enforce this section.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=12-402","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"8c77a2a4577db287b38d95d9f24e644d6fb4be64bd0f05795ff8c3bbfa3dbe67","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-12-401","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-12-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
