Code, Environment § 14–120","heading":"","body":"(a) For each offense, any person who willfully violates any provision of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in a court of competent jurisdiction is subject to a fine of:\n(1) Up to $50,000;\n(2) An amount sufficient to cover the cost of damages resulting from all of the following caused by the permittee, including a contractor of the permittee:\n(i) Any oil or gas spill;\n(ii) Any other discharge; and\n(iii) Any violation of this subtitle; and\n(3) Costs imposed in the discretion of the court.\n(b) Any penalty imposed under this subtitle is in addition to any other penalties provided by law.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=14-120","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"4b76e9f3a3e471876bfc85a44faac82fdb7f2d724c972bcca8a2471173306cfd","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-14-119","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-14-121"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
