Code, Environment § 3–403","heading":"","body":"(a) A political subdivision may enforce the sound level limits and noise control rules and regulations adopted under this title.\n(b) A political subdivision that enforces a noise control standard adopted under this title or an ordinance concerning noise may:\n(1) Investigate a complaint concerning noise;\n(2) Institute and conduct a survey and testing program concerning noise;\n(3) Test or make another determination of the source of a noise; and\n(4) Assess the degree of required abatement of the noise.\n(c) Each sound level limit shall be applied at the boundary of:\n(1) A property; or\n(2) A land use category, as determined by the responsible political subdivision.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=3-403","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"a7d3b3d3c4d069d87797fbf1c2b1378f31ba7c88c7ce351f1d09ed0cd189dd7a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-3-401","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-3-404"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
