Code, Environment § 5–1104.1","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) Subject to the approval of the members of the General Assembly of the 36th legislative district, the Governor shall appoint a Kent Island Citizens Oversight Committee.\n(2) The Governor shall determine the terms and qualifications of members of the Oversight Committee.\n(b) The Oversight Committee shall be composed of the following members:\n(1) The Secretary of the State Department of Natural Resources or the Secretary’s designee;\n(2) Two representatives of the Kent Island Civic Confederation;\n(3) Two citizens from the 4th election district;\n(4) One representative of the Maryland Watermen’s Association;\n(5) One representative of the Queen Anne’s County Watermen’s Association;\n(6) One representative of the pleasure boating industry;\n(7) One representative of the sport boating industry;\n(8) One representative from the Maryland Port Administration;\n(9) One member of the Board of County Commissioners of Queen Anne’s County or the Board’s designee; and\n(10) One member of the Queen Anne’s County Delegation or the Delegation’s designee.\n(c) The Oversight Committee shall:\n(1) Consult with the Maryland Port Administration regarding the redeposit of dredge spoils off the shores of Kent Island, Queen Anne’s County;\n(2) Monitor the redeposit of dredge spoils off the shores of Kent Island; and\n(3) Hear and respond to complaints lodged by any person affected by the redeposit of dredge spoils in the waters off Kent Island.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=5-1104.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"6d0f3b0a4dc20a373c91b5891ccf407477754ad7d68817f9caf8e27473ac1bc3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-5-1104","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-5-1104.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
