Code, Environment § 6–1002","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, unless the person is accredited by the Department under this subtitle, a person may not:\n(1) Act as a contractor or supervisor for the purpose of providing lead paint abatement services;\n(2) Provide training to others who provide lead paint abatement services; or\n(3) Engage in the inspection of lead-based paint hazards.\n(b) The Department shall, by regulation, create exceptions to the accreditation requirement for instances where the disturbance of lead-containing substance is incidental.\n(c) An individual who acts only as a worker or project designer need not be accredited, but must be trained.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=6-1002","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"2c76662205539b8b46611e43556fee2048dbb136194167afdf06285fdf8db356","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-6-1001","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-6-1003"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
