Code, Environment § 7–259","heading":"","body":"(a) After or concurrently with service of a complaint under this subtitle, the Department may:\n(1) Issue an order that requires the person to whom it is directed to take corrective action within a time set in the order;\n(2) Send a written notice that requires the person to whom it is directed to file a written report about the alleged violation; or\n(3) Send a written notice that requires the person to whom the notice is directed:\n(i) To appear at a hearing before the Department at a time and place the Department sets to answer the allegations of the complaint; or\n(ii) To file a written report and also appear at a hearing before the Department at a time and place the Department sets to answer the charges in the complaint.\n(b) Any order issued under this section is effective immediately, according to its terms, when it is served.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=7-259","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"7056f6b22e0cd14fc006b3e85bba966f87b0aa9597da083eff0de93a25ce8082","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-7-258","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-7-260"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
