Code, Environment § 8–304","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “radiation machine” means any device that is capable of producing radiation.\n(b) After July 1, 1986, except for dental or veterinary diagnosis or treatment, a person may not use any radiation machine that is a source of radiation that is not certified as complying with this subtitle and all rules and regulations adopted under this subtitle.\n(c) The Secretary shall adopt rules and regulations to:\n(1) Govern the issuance, suspension, and revocation of licenses for individuals who inspect radiation machines;\n(2) Establish inspection procedures and a schedule for the periodic inspection and certification of radiation machines;\n(3) Establish a biennial fee schedule in accordance with § 8-301(b)(1)(iii) of this subtitle that is sufficient only to cover the costs to the Department of issuing the certificate and regulating the use of radiation; and\n(4) Provide for penalties for the failure to certify radiation machines.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=8-304","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"9decdf11fb2deb3e2aa8071ced7610c7eaf9d40d7750d24af4934cb981dc83b5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-8-303","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-8-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
