Code, Environment § 9–11A–09","heading":"","body":"The Board, in consultation with the Department, shall:\n(1) Make recommendations to the Department on the adoption of regulations to carry out the provisions of this subtitle, including:\n(i) Licensing procedures, definitions, qualifications, and continuing education requirements for the following categories:\n1. Designer;\n2. Master installer and journey installer;\n3. Master on–site wastewater property transfer inspector and journey on–site wastewater property transfer inspector;\n4. Master pumper and journey pumper; and\n5. Master operation and maintenance provider and journey operation and maintenance provider;\n(ii) Certification procedures, definitions, qualifications, and continuing education requirements for the following categories:\n1. Designer;\n2. Advanced treatment installer;\n3. Mound installer;\n4. Drip dispersal installer;\n5. Pump dispersal system installer;\n6. Advanced treatment operation and maintenance provider;\n7. Advanced treatment unit pumper;\n8. Advanced treatment property transfer inspector; and\n9. Any other category associated with a specific on–site wastewater treatment technology; and\n(iii) Minimum standards for any processes, procedures, techniques, and materials associated with on–site wastewater systems;\n(2) Review regulations proposed by the Department to carry out the provisions of this subtitle;\n(3) Establish a code of ethics provided by the Department for:\n(i) Members of the Board; and\n(ii) Individuals licensed and certified by the Board;\n(4) On or before June 1, 2024, make recommendations to the Department for establishing the licensing and certification procedures specified under item (1) of this section;\n(5) Collect and account for the fees provided for under this subtitle; and\n(6) Keep a current record of all individuals and entities licensed under this subtitle.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=9-11A-09","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"f15e72a0ae95f437ccd11bcafa54a04fd3c8b9f40b52bf5ed6cee17f86ce8c16","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-11a-08","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-11a-10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
