Code, Environment § 9–331","heading":"","body":"By rule, regulation, order, permit, or otherwise, the Department may require the owner or operator of any source of a discharge of pollutants or of any source that is an industrial user of a publicly owned treatment works:\n(1) To keep records;\n(2) To make reports;\n(3) To install, calibrate, use, and maintain monitoring equipment or methods, including, where appropriate, biological monitoring methods;\n(4) To sample discharges in accordance with the methods, at the locations, at the intervals, and in the manner the Department requires; and\n(5) To provide to the Department any information that the Department reasonably requires about:\n(i) Discharge of pollutants into the waters of this State; or\n(ii) Introduction of pollutants into publicly owned treatment works.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=9-331","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"206d7b50987dec14a9bfa64bab357e6113afd449a3cac4caa71732787f62f2c7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-330","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-331.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
