Code, Environment § 9–404","heading":"","body":"To carry out the provisions of this subtitle and in addition to the powers set forth elsewhere in this subtitle, the Secretary may:\n(1) Perform any act necessary to carry out the provisions of this subtitle that relate to adopting or enforcing State primary drinking water regulations;\n(2) Administer the provisions of this subtitle and all rules, regulations, and orders adopted, issued, or effective under this subtitle;\n(3) Enter into agreements, contracts, or cooperative arrangements, under appropriate terms and conditions, with any person or governmental entity;\n(4) Receive financial and technical assistance from the federal government or other public or private agencies;\n(5) Participate in related programs of the federal government, other states, interstate agencies, or other public or private agencies or organizations;\n(6) Establish adequate fiscal controls and accounting procedures to assure proper disbursement of and accounting for funds appropriated or otherwise provided for the purpose of carrying out provisions of this subtitle;\n(7) Delegate any responsibilities and duties the Secretary considers appropriate for administering the requirements of this subtitle;\n(8) Set and collect fees for conducting necessary inspections and laboratory analyses; and\n(9) Adopt rules and regulations that are necessary or appropriate to carry out the Secretary’s functions under this subtitle.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=9-404","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"f9deb60d6078f75e0c156debaf5e9f31816af0230318d7642edcbb387b5e8284","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-403","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
