Code, Environment § 9–521","heading":"","body":"(a) A State or local authority that violates any provisions of § 9-512(b) or (d) of this subtitle is liable for a civil penalty not exceeding $100 to be collected in a civil action brought by the Department in the circuit court for any county. Each day a violation continues is a separate violation under this section.\n(b) A civil penalty imposed under this section does not bar any other applicable relief or penalty.\n(c) (1) An applicant who violates § 9-510(b)(9) of this subtitle, or who violates any regulation adopted under § 9-510(b)(9) of this subtitle, is liable for a civil penalty not to exceed $500 per violation to be collected in a civil action filed by the Department in the circuit court for any county.\n(2) Each day a violation continues under this subsection constitutes a separate violation of this subsection.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=9-521","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"e2e06e3ba46ae06b5ff438800e99d89d750e3ca5ce2b4d8c8889d81c4d28b29e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-518","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
