Code, Environment § 9–714","heading":"","body":"(a) A municipal authority may set, collect, and, if necessary, modify service rates to provide funds:\n(1) To pay all or part of the principal and interest on bonds issued under Part II of this subtitle; and\n(2) To pay for the cost of maintenance, repair, and operation, including overhead expenses and depreciation allowance, of systems constructed under Part II of this subtitle.\n(b) The service rates shall be:\n(1) Chargeable against all property served by any system under the ownership of the municipal authority; and\n(2) Collectible against the owner of the property served, in the same manner as other debts are collectible at law.\n(c) The municipal authority may set:\n(1) The time for payment; and\n(2) The penalties for nonpayment.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=9-714","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"8bb4cb6f3376d51f31258eb80a0208baec618307396e470f29e73cf7d3a76502","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-713","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-715"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
