Code, Environment § 9–920","heading":"","body":"(a) The board of directors of an authority may:\n(1) Acquire, lease as a lessee, hold, and use any interest in any property or franchise that is necessary or desirable to carry out the purposes of the authority;\n(2) Sell, lease as a lessor, transfer, or otherwise dispose of any interest in any property or franchise of the authority; and\n(3) Acquire any right in land or water right in connection with land by gift, purchase, or eminent domain.\n(b) To condemn an interest in property that is owned by a political subdivision, an authority must obtain the consent of the governing body of the political subdivision.","path":["Article - Environment"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gen\u0026section=9-920","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:58Z","sha256":"eb179dcb4f130021a52533c1fc41de8fe3e2d9e3ec2385f01b2cb0580f40a5c5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-919","next":"us-md/md.-code-environment-9-921"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
