Code, Estates and Trusts § 13–221","heading":"","body":"(a) The minor or disabled person, the minor’s or disabled person’s personal representative, the guardian, or any other interested person may petition the court to terminate the guardianship proceedings.\n(b) A guardianship proceeding shall terminate on:\n(1) The cessation of the minority or disability;\n(2) The death or presumptive death of the minor or disabled person;\n(3) Transfer of all the assets of the estate to a foreign fiduciary; or\n(4) Other good cause for termination as may be shown to the satisfaction of the court.\n(c) Termination and final distribution of the estate of a former minor or disabled person shall be made in compliance with the provisions of the Maryland Rules, applying to a fiduciary.","path":["Article - Estates and Trusts"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=get\u0026section=13-221","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:07Z","sha256":"df67ff5e148d66e4a8192f5ebb78a0b7e163656b392b51bb3aa54d007f387276","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-estates-and-trusts-13-220","next":"us-md/md.-code-estates-and-trusts-13-222"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
