Code, Family Law § 10–309","heading":"","body":"(a) A tribunal of this State that has issued a child support order consistent with the law of this State may serve as an initiating tribunal to request a tribunal of another state to enforce:\n(1) the order if the order is the controlling order and has not been modified by a tribunal of another state that assumed jurisdiction pursuant to the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act; or\n(2) a money judgment for arrears of support and interest on the order accrued before a determination that an order of a tribunal of another state is the controlling order.\n(b) A tribunal of this State having continuing jurisdiction over a support order may act as a responding tribunal to enforce the order.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=10-309","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"f7f813374d143108183122dfee9944fa6090274ff726dbc69fba29a3290fe7d1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-10-308","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-10-310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
