Code, Family Law § 10–338","heading":"","body":"(a) An obligor may contest the validity or enforcement of an income withholding order issued in another state and received directly by an employer in this State by registering the order in a tribunal of this State and filing a contest to that order as provided in Part VI of this subtitle, or otherwise contesting the order in the same manner as if the order had been issued by a tribunal of this State.\n(b) The obligor shall give notice of the contest to:\n(1) a support enforcement agency providing services to the obligee;\n(2) each employer that has directly received an income withholding order relating to the obligor; and\n(3) the person designated to receive payments in the income withholding order or, if no person is designated, to the obligee.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=10-338","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"c64e92e528a0f4be2e86482c7e97969d19bd1a4164ce5719e4850080d4851e59","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-10-337","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-10-339"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
