Code, Family Law § 4–701","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Abuse” has the meaning stated in § 4-501(b)(1) of this title.\n(c) “Domestic violence” means abuse occurring between:\n(1) current or former spouses or cohabitants;\n(2) persons who have a child in common; or\n(3) persons currently or formerly involved in a dating relationship.\n(d) “Domestic violence program” is a program established in accordance with § 4-515 of this title.\n(e) “Local team” means the multidisciplinary and multiagency domestic violence fatality review team established for a county in accordance with this subtitle.\n(f) “Serious physical injury” has the meaning stated in § 3-201 of the Criminal Law Article.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=4-701","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"3808a62b7492e4a0df6395cb898a2c7fa57cd8bfbfd9c9a97ad836bcf4946749","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-4-613","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-4-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
