Code, Family Law § 5–1301","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Abuse” has the meaning stated in § 5–701 of this title.\n(c) “Administration” means the Social Services Administration of the Department.\n(d) “Child” means any individual under the age of 18 years.\n(e) “Indicated” has the meaning stated in § 5–701 of this title.\n(f) “Kinship care” has the meaning stated in § 5–501 of this title.\n(g) “Local department” has the meaning stated in § 1–101 of this article.\n(h) “Neglect” has the meaning stated in § 5–701 of this title.\n(i) “Out–of–home placement” means placement of a child into foster care, kinship care, group care, or residential treatment care.\n(j) “Ruled out” has the meaning stated in § 5–701 of this title.\n(k) “Secretary” means the Secretary of Human Services.\n(l) “Unsubstantiated” has the meaning stated in § 5–701 of this title.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=5-1301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"df6de03638f1c681fe28e1ff0c3af8cfaf2e02c8c38e36147a6bc166747e41d3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-1209","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-1302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
