Code, Family Law § 5–1304","heading":"","body":"The effectiveness of efforts to protect children removed from their homes from abuse and neglect shall be measured by:\n(1) the incidence of indicated or unsubstantiated findings of child abuse or neglect of children in the custody of a local department, or a placement agency, for placements:\n(i) in foster care homes;\n(ii) in kinship care homes;\n(iii) in residential treatment centers or group homes;\n(iv) with family members; and\n(v) in other forms of substitute care;\n(2) the incidence of indicated or unsubstantiated findings of child abuse or neglect within 12 months following the release of the child committed to the Department; and\n(3) any other indicators adopted by the Secretary under § 5-1302 of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=5-1304","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"8e88692c3de9ae52385f15e70babdde23a4a37813fc43296366d00b6f5b3e4b1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-1303","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-1305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
