Code, Family Law § 5–1305","heading":"","body":"The effectiveness of efforts to address permanency and stability in the living situations of children in the custody of a local department, or a placement agency, shall be measured by:\n(1) the percentage of children who exit foster care within time periods consistent with federal national standards with a breakdown by each standard;\n(2) the percentage of children with more than two out-of-home placements during a report year;\n(3) the percentage of children in the custody of a local department, or a placement agency, who have siblings living in different placements;\n(4) the percentage of children who exit foster care and are:\n(i) reunified with a parent or guardian;\n(ii) placed with a relative who is awarded custody and guardianship;\n(iii) adopted; or\n(iv) placed with a nonrelated guardian;\n(5) the percentage of children in an out-of-home placement living in:\n(i) kinship care homes;\n(ii) restricted foster homes;\n(iii) regular foster homes;\n(iv) treatment foster homes;\n(v) group homes;\n(vi) residential treatment centers; and\n(vii) other specified types of placements;\n(6) the number of foster homes and treatment foster homes available for children in the custody of a local department, or a placement agency;\n(7) the percentage of foster homes and kinship care homes in which the following have been conducted according to regulation:\n(i) required criminal background checks;\n(ii) fire and safety inspections;\n(iii) health and safety checks;\n(iv) reconsiderations, as applicable; and\n(v) any other safety measures adopted by regulation;\n(8) the number of children who are recommitted to the Department within 12 months of release from commitment to the Department; and\n(9) any other indicators adopted by the Secretary under § 5-1302 of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=5-1305","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"17e07ddbea4ab191c5344a57012dbf2d1a5bd59503582695186df79ca7195983","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-1304","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-1306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
