Code, Family Law § 5–539","heading":"","body":"(a) The State Board may adopt policies and procedures that:\n(1) relate to the functions of the local boards; and\n(2) are consistent with the goals set forth in § 5–544 of this subtitle.\n(b) The State Board shall:\n(1) provide a training program for members of the local boards and local citizens review panels;\n(2) review and coordinate the activities of the local boards;\n(3) adopt policies and procedures that relate to reports and any other information that is required for any public or private agency or institution;\n(4) make recommendations to the Secretary of Human Services and the General Assembly regarding:\n(i) the response of the State to child abuse and neglect; and\n(ii) out–of–home care policies, procedures, and practices; and\n(5) report to the Secretary of Human Services and, subject to § 2–1257 of the State Government Article, the General Assembly on the first day of each year on the status of children in out–of–home placement in this State.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=5-539","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"509a25907ef00cc05a63452500c67fa5e14cbf3ecfc4b5facf24b8b43a29349f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-538","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-539.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
