Code, Family Law § 5–705.4","heading":"","body":"If an agency participating in an investigation under § 5–706 of this subtitle has substantial grounds to believe that a person has knowingly failed to report suspected abuse or neglect as required by § 5–704 of this subtitle, the agency shall:\n(1) file a complaint with the appropriate licensing board in accordance with the provisions of the Health Occupations Article if the person is a health practitioner;\n(2) file a complaint with the appropriate law enforcement agency if the person is a police officer; or\n(3) file a complaint with the county board of education or the appropriate agency, institution, or licensed facility at which the person is employed if the person is an educator or a human service worker.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=5-705.4","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"88da83dceb8ca634a05e294ea59e454b30766745e4508f215feb832ece3bb939","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-705.3","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-5-705.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
