Code, Family Law § 8–203","heading":"","body":"(a) In a proceeding for an annulment or an absolute divorce, if there is a dispute as to whether certain property is marital property, the court shall determine which property is marital property:\n(1) when the court grants an annulment or an absolute divorce;\n(2) within 90 days after the court grants an annulment or divorce, if the court expressly reserves in the annulment or divorce decree the power to make the determination; or\n(3) after the 90–day period if:\n(i) the court expressly reserves in the annulment or divorce decree the power to make the determination;\n(ii) during the 90–day period, the court extends the time for making the determination; and\n(iii) the parties consent to the extension.\n(b) In this subtitle a military pension shall be considered in the same manner as any other pension or retirement benefit.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=8-203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"7ac79c4d155a252a45e751784942bf1f9052568ff0821ae2a81793356832c83d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-8-202","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-8-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
