Code, Family Law § 9–307","heading":"","body":"(a) A person who violates any provision of § 9–304 of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment not exceeding 30 days.\n(b) If the child is out of the custody of the lawful custodian for not more than 30 days, a person who violates any provision of § 9–305(a) of this subtitle is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year, or both.\n(c) If the child is out of the custody of the lawful custodian for more than 30 days, a person who violates any provision of § 9–305(a) of this subtitle is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $2,500 or imprisonment not exceeding 3 years, or both.\n(d) A person who violates any provision of § 9–305(b) of this subtitle is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or both.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=9-307","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"091d1b5e723d5462844e9effefb1fd85910db07137ab766e95d61e684fd83df8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-9-306","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-9-401"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
