Code, Family Law § 9.5–304","heading":"","body":"(a) A court of this State that does not have jurisdiction to modify a child custody determination may issue a temporary order enforcing:\n(1) a visitation schedule made by a court of another state; or\n(2) the visitation provisions of a child custody determination of another state that does not provide for a specific visitation schedule.\n(b) (1) If a court of this State makes an order under subsection (a)(2) of this section, it shall specify in the order a period that it considers adequate to allow the petitioner to obtain an order from a court having jurisdiction under the criteria specified in Subtitle 2 of this title.\n(2) The order remains in effect until an order is obtained from the other court or the period expires.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=9.5-304","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"dc4f916fc073c0ae9d40e475cfb9932cb9e489f610891b18c67b4ec0c3b89dd1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-9.5-303","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-9.5-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
