Code, Family Law § 9.7–106","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A petition under this title shall be verified and include a copy of any existing child custody determination, if available.\n(2) The petition shall specify the risk factors for abduction including the relevant factors described in § 9.7–107 of this title.\n(b) Subject to § 9.5–209(e) of this article, if reasonably ascertainable, the petition shall contain:\n(1) the name, date of birth, and gender of the child;\n(2) the customary address and current physical location of the child;\n(3) the identity, customary address, and current physical location of the respondent;\n(4) a statement of whether a prior action to prevent abduction or domestic violence has been filed by a party or other individual or entity having custody of the child and the date, location, and disposition of the action;\n(5) a statement of whether a party to the proceeding has been arrested for a crime related to domestic violence, stalking, or child abuse or neglect and the date, location, and disposition of the case; and\n(6) any other information required to be submitted to the court for a child custody determination under § 9.5–209 of this article.","path":["Article - Family Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfl\u0026section=9.7-106","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:17Z","sha256":"8498932b445d486062c1cd01995768a6754dcd5a0eea68ba67dbbe45b1fceeda","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-9.7-105","next":"us-md/md.-code-family-law-9.7-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
