Code, Financial Institutions § 1–405","heading":"","body":"(a) “Foreign banking corporation” has the meaning stated in § 12-201(e) of this article.\n(b) A foreign banking corporation may not have an automated teller machine in this State for any purpose unless:\n(1) The foreign banking corporation obtains from the Commissioner a permit for the automated teller machine; or\n(2) The automated teller machine is authorized under:\n(i) The Riegle-Neal Interstate Banking and Branching Efficiency Act of 1994 or other federal law; or\n(ii) Title 5, Subtitle 9 or Subtitle 10 of this article.\n(c) The process for obtaining a permit for the automated teller machine is as stated in §§ 12-208 and 12-209 of this article.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=1-405","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"c1caa07da03371d13be935bc1182f9959f62a4751607d5636b55e9cfa4349840","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-1-404","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-1-406"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
