Code, Financial Institutions § 11–510","heading":"","body":"(a) If an applicant does not meet the requirements of this subtitle, the Commissioner shall:\n(1) Immediately notify the applicant in writing of this fact;\n(2) Return the bond filed under § 11-508 of this subtitle;\n(3) Refund the license fee; and\n(4) Keep the investigation fee.\n(b) Within 30 days after the Commissioner denies an application, the Commissioner shall:\n(1) File in the Commissioner’s office a written decision containing the findings and conclusions on which the denial was based;\n(2) Send a copy of the decision to the applicant; and\n(3) Advise the applicant by certified mail of the applicant’s right to a hearing to be held in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act.\n(c) (1) An applicant who seeks a hearing on a license application denial shall file a written request for a hearing within 45 days following receipt of the advice to the applicant of the applicant’s right to a hearing.\n(2) A hearing date established in response to the filing of a notice under this subsection may be postponed only once for a period of up to 30 days after the initial hearing date.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=11-510","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"7dcec32808c414dad2aaa8d5f56731da5d8a4adf76d27f09b97044264454d06d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-11-509","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-11-511"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
