Code, Financial Institutions § 11–608","heading":"","body":"(a) If the Commissioner denies an application, the Commissioner:\n(1) Within 10 days, shall notify the applicant, in writing, of the denial; and\n(2) Shall keep the license fee and the investigation fee.\n(b) Within 30 days after the Commissioner denies an application, the Commissioner shall:\n(1) Issue a written decision containing the specific factual findings and conclusions of law on which the denial was based;\n(2) Send a copy of the written decision by certified mail to the applicant; and\n(3) Advise the applicant by certified mail of the applicant’s right to a hearing to be held in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act.\n(c) An applicant who seeks a hearing on an application denial shall file with the Commissioner’s office a written request for a hearing within 45 days after receipt of the Commissioner’s written decision and notice of the applicant’s right to a hearing.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=11-608","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"1e07c9770cc5c8192f93124a1662853dd3992bd4c9af780e2f52f14a1483b53a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-11-607","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-11-609"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
