Code, Financial Institutions § 12–108","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) To apply for a license, an applicant shall:\n(i) Complete, sign, and submit to the Commissioner an application made under oath in the form, and in accordance with the process, that the Commissioner requires; and\n(ii) Provide all the information that the Commissioner requests.\n(2) The application shall include:\n(i) The applicant’s legal name and any trade name used by the applicant in accordance with § 2–121 of this article;\n(ii) The applicant’s principal executive office address;\n(iii) If the applicant is not an individual, the name and residence address of each control person;\n(iv) The address of each additional location, if any, that:\n1. The general public may reasonably view as a location that provides check cashing services, including any location that investigates customer complaints or directly communicates with customers verbally, electronically, or in writing;\n2. Houses any core operational infrastructure or technology systems;\n3. Conducts any core management, information security and technology, risk and compliance, or finance functions; or\n4. Is otherwise required to be listed in NMLS by regulation the Commissioner adopts under this subtitle;\n(v) If the licensee operates a mobile unit, the vehicle identification number of each mobile unit and the geographic area where each mobile unit will be operating; and\n(vi) Any other information that the Commissioner requires for an investigation and findings under § 12–109 of this subtitle.\n(b) With the application, the applicant shall pay to the Commissioner:\n(1) An investigation fee of $100; and\n(2) A license fee of $500.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=12-108","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"c45a34df0770b1326a22762c7fd5ebd1a5081ae90829c9fa691a84335548f6cd","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-12-107.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-12-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
