Code, Financial Institutions § 4–202","heading":"","body":"(a) The incorporators shall sign and acknowledge two copies of articles of incorporation.\n(b) The articles of incorporation shall include:\n(1) The name and address of each incorporator;\n(2) A statement that:\n(i) Each incorporator is at least 18 years old;\n(ii) Each incorporator is a citizen of the United States; and\n(iii) At least one of the incorporators is a citizen of this State;\n(3) A statement that the incorporators are associating to form a savings bank under this subtitle;\n(4) The name of the savings bank, which may not be similar in any material respect to the name of any other bank, savings bank, or trust company in this State;\n(5) The municipal area and county where the principal banking office of the savings bank is to be located;\n(6) The name and residence address of each member; and\n(7) The number of directors and the names and residence addresses of those who will serve until their successors are elected and qualify.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=4-202","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"d10ada3b411871daa9c8b9d75e5240e0744205a03e46ca51bb6dd0d491e8835e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-4-201","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-4-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
