Code, Financial Institutions § 5–1005","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a banking institution that proposes to establish a branch in this State or in another state shall:\n(1) File with the Commissioner, at least 30 days before the intended opening date, a notice of intention to open a branch; and\n(2) Submit to the Commissioner any information the Commissioner requires in order to evaluate the proposed branch.\n(b) A well–capitalized banking institution with a composite CAMELS rating of one or two may establish a branch in this State by filing with the Commissioner an expedited notice, in the form that the Commissioner requires, at least 30 days before the intended opening date.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=5-1005","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"e0ce4c88f94aa7e958d125879f5f252bec01be653872ef052c35a6911ecee453","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-5-1004","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-5-1006"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
