Code, Financial Institutions § 6–319","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to the applicable provisions of the bylaws, the board may expel any member of the credit union who:\n(1) Defaults on the payment of any monetary obligation to the credit union;\n(2) Is convicted of a criminal offense involving dishonesty or breach of trust;\n(3) Neglects or refuses to comply with the provisions of this title or of the bylaws of the credit union;\n(4) Habitually neglects to pay debts or becomes insolvent or bankrupt; or\n(5) Subject to the provisions of subsection (b) of this section, violates a written expulsion policy adopted by the board.\n(b) (1) The board shall post conspicuously at each office of the credit union a notice of any expulsion policy adopted by the board.\n(2) A person expelled by the board may request a reconsideration of the expulsion.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=6-319","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"3ea4c8fad405b4ecc92373dc085a705633b58f5fb17c18e2d61d62787d1136b4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-6-318","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-6-320"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
