Code, Financial Institutions § 6–326","heading":"","body":"(a) The office of a director becomes vacant if the director:\n(1) Dies;\n(2) Resigns; or\n(3) Is removed.\n(b) A director may be removed from office:\n(1) By the board, in accordance with the bylaws, if the director:\n(i) Does not possess or maintain the qualifications required to serve on the board; or\n(ii) Is absent from three consecutive regular meetings of the board unless excused; or\n(2) By the members.\n(c) (1) Unless the bylaws provide otherwise, the remaining directors by majority vote shall fill a vacancy.\n(2) A director elected by the board to fill a vacancy holds office as the bylaws provide.","path":["Article - Financial Institutions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gfi\u0026section=6-326","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:27Z","sha256":"dc16d357bb4894d15fc091625937a182839a08ca410cffd9c6386c7b6bba5fe1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-6-325","next":"us-md/md.-code-financial-institutions-6-327"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
