Code, General Provisions § 4–339","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a custodian shall deny inspection of the part of a public record that identifies or contains personal information about a person, including a commercial entity, that maintains an alarm or security system.\n(b) A custodian shall allow inspection by:\n(1) the person in interest;\n(2) an alarm or security system company if the company can document that it currently provides alarm or security services to the person in interest;\n(3) law enforcement personnel; and\n(4) emergency services personnel, including:\n(i) a career firefighter;\n(ii) an emergency medical services provider, as defined in § 13–516 of the Education Article;\n(iii) a rescue squad employee; and\n(iv) a volunteer firefighter, a rescue squad member, or an advanced life support unit member.","path":["Article - General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ggp\u0026section=4-339","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:37Z","sha256":"a10ae8543b6a2528d7c5a8a84df61278969491445b5071574316f70fbc1a8195","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-4-338","next":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-4-340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
