Code, General Provisions § 5–604","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided under subsection (c) of this section, an individual who, other than by reason of death, leaves an office for which a statement is required by § 5–601(a) of this subtitle shall file the statement within 60 days after leaving the office.\n(b) The statement shall cover:\n(1) the calendar year immediately preceding the year in which the individual left office, unless a statement covering that year has already been filed by the individual; and\n(2) the portion of the current calendar year during which the individual held the office.\n(c) This section does not require the filing of a statement if:\n(1) the individual has left office to become an official in another office for which a statement is required under this subtitle; and\n(2) the disclosure requirements of the new office are at least as extensive as those of the old office.","path":["Article - General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ggp\u0026section=5-604","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:37Z","sha256":"237a482dcb0360b7af2698145e5f4d9ffd11841b35736bfe5ad654160ff9c38d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-5-603","next":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-5-605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
