Code, General Provisions § 5–713","heading":"","body":"(a) After each reporting period, the Ethics Commission shall compute and make available:\n(1) for each of the categories of expenses required to be reported under § 5–705(b)(2) of this subtitle, a total of the expenditures reported by all regulated lobbyists in that category;\n(2) for the categories of expenses required to be reported under § 5–705(b)(2)(v) through (vii) of this subtitle, a combined total of the expenditures reported by all regulated lobbyists; and\n(3) the total of the reported expenditures by all regulated lobbyists for lobbying activities during the reporting period.\n(b) (1) If a report under § 5–705 or § 5–706 of this subtitle contains the name of an official or employee in the Executive Branch or Legislative Branch or the name of a member of the official’s or employee’s immediate family, the Ethics Commission shall:\n(i) notify the official or employee within 30 days after receipt of the report by the Ethics Commission; and\n(ii) keep the report confidential for 60 days after its receipt.\n(2) Within 30 days after receiving the notice, the official or employee may submit a written exception to the inclusion in the report of the name of the official, employee, or member of the official’s or employee’s immediate family.","path":["Article - General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ggp\u0026section=5-713","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:37Z","sha256":"bf53c55213aa4478978d900de7fa33dfd80ac1c8008523d2405b587d32e1938c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-5-712","next":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-5-714"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
