Code, General Provisions § 7–416","heading":"","body":"(a) The Governor annually shall proclaim September 30 as Maryland Veterans Suicide Prevention Day.\n(b) The proclamation shall declare Maryland Veterans Suicide Prevention Day:\n(1) a day of reflection, recollection, and determination for Maryland veterans, service members, family members, and all Marylanders to remember the human tragedy that is associated with veteran suicide; and\n(2) a pledge to our veteran community to:\n(i) work to destigmatize mental health support;\n(ii) create more opportunities for those with mental health issues to speak freely and get the support they need; and\n(iii) encourage veterans to reach out for help.","path":["Article - General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=ggp\u0026section=7-416","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:58:37Z","sha256":"e91206853d5e2ca33a5734412e60886d4ca336c676a350bfd2b3b116c477e4c0","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-7-415","next":"us-md/md.-code-general-provisions-7-417"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
